Novak Djokovic was forced to withdraw from his Australian Open semi-final match against Alexander Zverev due to a leg injury. The injury, which Djokovic sustained during his quarter-final win over Carlos Alcaraz, left him unable to continue playing and he retired after losing the first set in a tie-break.
Zverev Calls for Respect for Djokovic
Djokovic's retirement was met with boos from some sections of the crowd, which led Zverev to call for respect for his opponent. "Don't boo when a player is injured," Zverev said in his post-match interview. "Novak Djokovic is someone who has given absolutely everything to tennis." Zverev said he hadn't noticed that Djokovic was injured, saying it was a "high level set."

With 24 grand slam singles titles to his name, Djokovic has won more than any other male player in history. He is tied with Margaret Court for the most major singles titles overall and is just one behind Serena Williams.
